"Preserving the Past . . . Saving the Future"
Columbiana County Archives & Research Center was started in 2005 to save and preserve original early Columbiana County court records and files that were going to be destroyed. After four years of searching we now have a permanent site. Members are busy getting everything indexed so that we can provide a wealth of resources for those doing research either family or other.
CCARC's holdings include early criminal court records, early civil court records, early divorce records, court of appeals records, county probate index, Civil War military records, local Ohio militia records, census records, newspaper collection, Bible records, family histories, cemetery records, maps, journals, local area histories, genealogy publications, yearbooks, directories, surname file and ancestor charts. CCARC is also a depository for Columbiana County family histories, diaries, documents and identified photographs.
CCARC depends upon memberships, donations, research and copying fees, etc. for revenue. CCARC is a non-profit and tax-exempt organization established with the guidelines of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the CCARC are tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes to the extent provided by law.
